I am passionate about the history of mathematics, in particular, about the origins of set theory and the emotionally charged debates and the struggle over the foundations of mathematics. In this artwork we see the ‘winner’ of one of those disputes: Ernst Zermelo. His axiomatization of set theory is elegant and simple, just like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s music. This is why we can see Zermelo dressed in a Mozart-fashion.
