My passion stems from how AI is beginning to reshape our very concept of time. Seeing time-series models predict the future and digital humans resurrect the past, I had to ask: will AI eventually control time itself? My thought process was to capture this profound shift. The central, hidden detail of my work is the sand in the hourglass turning into digital pixels as it falls. This symbolizes the moment our continuous, analog reality becomes discrete data—something an AI can analyze, predict, and perhaps one day, command.

computer science in Chinese culture
The abacus, a key piece of Chinese cultural heritage, provides a direct link between ancient mathematics and the logic of computer science. For centuries, it served as a primary tool for complex calculations. More profoundly, its structured operational rules for arithmetic are essentially physical algorithms. Each routine can be seen as a program, making the abacus a primitive but powerful algebraic computer, embodying the algorithmic thinking that is the bedrock of modern computing.
