Our universe seems too chaotic based on our current understanding. Despite the many revolutionary advancements in mathematics, it still feels like we have not understood the core of what we are examining around us using mathematics as a tool. Mathematics is as mysterious as God. Inspired by Martin Hairer’s work on stochastic PDEs, I believe that as time marches forward, the ultimate question remains — just how much of the universe will we ever truly understand?

mathematics in Nigerian culture
In Yoruba culture, the traditional indigo-dyed textile known as “Adire” represents a profound, indigenous application of advanced geometric mathematics. The artisans who design these fabrics employ interesting techniques — using precise resist-dyeing, tying, folding, and stitching techniques — to create intricate, repeating tessellations and symmetrical fractal-like motifs. Patterns such as the interlocking geometric “Ibadandun” design showcase a deep cultural mastery of mathematical symmetry, translation, and rotational geometry seamlessly woven into Nigerian fashion and artistic heritage.
