audio commentary

I am deeply passionate about the mathematics in my artwork because it bridges the abstract beauty of fractals with the complexity of the brain. My thought process began with the idea of using fractal geometry to represent the brain’s intricate neural networks, capturing its self-similar, recursive nature. By integrating multiple perspectives, I aimed to reflect the richness of understanding that emerges from viewing complex systems through various lenses, showcasing how mathematical concepts illuminate our grasp of the world.

Mathematics in Jordanian Culture

In Jordan, the ancient architecture of Petra showcases a deep connection between culture and mathematics. The city’s intricate rock-carved structures, such as the Treasury and Monastery, reveal advanced knowledge of geometry and spatial design. The Nabateans employed precise mathematical techniques to carve these monumental facades and create water management systems in the arid landscape. This blend of art and mathematics not only highlights the cultural heritage of Jordan but also reflects the sophisticated engineering skills of its ancient inhabitants.
